Points to remember on Carnival Night in Weston
The town becomes extremely congested, with traffic and pedestrians. It is not recommended to park in any road or street within two miles of the town centre, as this may cause an obstruction for the emergency services. All coaches must park in the designated parking areas and purchase the appropriate permit.
Failure to do so may result in Police Prosecution and removal of the vehicle.
There is first aid provision around the route.
General parking
The map overleaf shows the route to Marine Parade, the official coach parking area for Carnival night. The parking fee is £30.00, the proceeds of which go to the Carnival Charity Funds. This will be collected by official attendants.
Please use the coach parking areas. Please remember that the object of the Carnival is to raise funds for charity, pay prize monies to entries, and to provide an enjoyable evening for thousands of people. It also generates business for you, the operator.
Permit only parking
North Somerset Council has granted permission for a limited amount of ‘On Route’ parking on the Promenade reserved strictly for permit holders only. These permits are only available in advance. Application forms are obtainable from WsM Carnival Ltd at a cost of £40.00 for mini-buses of 16 seats or under and £100.00 for coaches over 17 seats. A partial refund may be claimed if the route is changed due to bad weather, and does not pass the permit area. Parking in this restricted area is not permitted before 5.00pm and permits must be displayed in a prominent position facing the road.
